Centre for Language Solutions Accredited by the Forum for Academic Excellence

International Accreditation Strengthens CLS’s Commitment to Quality, Language Education and Academic Excellence

The Centre for Language Solutions (CLS) has been accredited by the Forum for Academic Excellence (FAE), an international academic accrediting and quality-assurance body based in Australia, with branches and operations in the United Kingdom and Europe. The accreditation marks an important milestone in the development of CLS and reinforces its commitment to providing high-quality language education, professional language services, academic resources and internationally oriented learning programmes.

An important dimension of the collaboration is the opportunity it creates for CLS to establish stronger links with the international language testing and certification ecosystem within the Commonwealth and wider international education community. Through FAE’s international academic networks, CLS will have a pathway to engage with recognised language-testing and language-education systems associated with internationally used examinations and qualifications, including IELTS, TOEFL, TFL, TESL and other language proficiency and teaching-related assessments and certifications.

CLS will benefit from the Forum’s established quality assurance systems, academic standards and validation frameworks, particularly in the development and validation of language programmes. One of the key benefits of the accreditation is CLS’s access to FAE’s quality assurance framework for language programme development, review and validation. This will provide CLS with opportunities to strengthen the academic structure of its programmes, ensuring that courses are systematically reviewed against appropriate academic and professional standards. The accreditation therefore provides a framework through which CLS can continuously improve its programmes while responding to the changing needs of learners, institutions, businesses and other users of language services.

Beyond programme quality assurance, CLS will benefit from FAE’s wider academic ecosystem, including access to academic resources, scholarly networks and publishing opportunities. The collaboration creates opportunities for CLS academics, researchers and language professionals to participate in scholarly activities and contribute to the development and dissemination of knowledge in language education and related fields. Through these opportunities, CLS seeks to strengthen its contribution to research and publication in areas such as language teaching, communication, multilingualism, translation, interpretation, literacy, professional communication and language for specific purposes.

The accreditation comes at a time when the demand for effective language education and professional communication is growing across Africa and internationally. CLS seeks to position language education not simply as the acquisition of another language, but as an important component of education, employability, cultural understanding, professional communication and international engagement. Its relationship with FAE provides an opportunity to connect CLS’s work with international approaches to academic quality assurance while maintaining responsiveness to African educational and linguistic contexts. This balance between international quality standards and local relevance will remain important to the development of CLS programmes.

The accreditation of the Centre for Language Solutions by the Forum for Academic Excellence represents a new phase in the Centre’s development. As CLS moves forward, the Centre will continue to develop language programmes and academic resources that respond to the needs of learners and institutions while contributing to the wider advancement of language education and professional communication.
